Cloud9 and EnVyUs teetering on the edge of elimination in ELEAGUE Major qualifier

Cloud9 and EnVyUs Struggle in ELEAGUE Major Qualifier

Cloud9 and EnVyUs had a tough start in the ELEAGUE Major qualifier, putting themselves at risk of elimination.

In the swiss system used for the qualifier, both teams, along with Renegades and Team Spirit, lost their first two matches. If any team loses a third match, they will be eliminated from the tournament.

EnVyUs faced a challenging draw, going against Immortals in the first round and then having a French derby against G2 Esports in the second match. In their elimination match, EnVyUs will be the clear favorites against Russian side Team Spirit. However, they need to win their remaining three matches to qualify for the Major.

Cloud9 also had a tough matchup in round one, losing 19-17 in overtime against FaZe Clan. They were then upset by Tyloo of China with a score of 16-11. This is a crucial opportunity for Cloud9 to qualify for their first ever Valve Major.

GODSENT performed well on day one, winning against G2 Esports and Team Dignitas with scores of 16-11. Immortals currently top the table based on round score. FaZe Clan, after defeating Cloud9, also emerged victorious against ELEAGUE season two champions OpTic Gaming. Hellraisers had a surprise win over Mousesports and Ninjas in Pyjamas.

Teams that are currently 2-0 are highly likely to qualify, needing just one more win from their next four matches. Today, GODSENT will face Hellraisers and GODSENT will compete against Immortals. The winners of these matches will secure the first spots in the January tournament.
