CLG Retains Women’s CS:GO Team, Discontinues Men’s Teams

CLG Parts Ways with Male CS:GO Teams, Maintains CLG Red

CLG has officially announced its decision to part ways with its male Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) teams. However, the organization will continue to support its female team, CLG Red.

The North American organization made this announcement earlier today. The main and academy divisions of CLG’s CS:GO operations will be discontinued. Despite this, CLG Red will still receive backing from the organization. It is unclear why CLG has decided to keep its female team, especially considering the organization’s reported financial issues. CLG reached this decision after analyzing its business strategy and economics.

On stream today, former CLG coach Steve “Ryu” Rattacasa discussed CLG’s departure from CS:GO. He addressed the internal issues, roster changes, and future prospects the main former lineup faced. The team’s failures were largely attributed to in-game leader Pujan “FNS” Mehta, as there were problems with internal dynamics and lack of compliance with in-game play calls. Ryu mentioned that when the lineup transitions to a new organization, FNS will not be included due to poor chemistry and compliance.

FNS confirmed on Twitter that the team had many internal problems and personality clashes. There were disagreements between himself and Ryu, who had a different approach to Counter-Strike compared to their previous coach Chet “ImAPet” Singh. FNS also believes that his team lost faith in his leadership abilities.

Currently, the main CLG team is seeking offers for transfer buyouts. However, they will not be able to compete in major events until they are under a new organization due to their existing contracts, according to Ryu.
