ChrisJ: “I believe this decision will be fruitful”

Interview with Chris “chrisJ” De Jong of Mousesports at Gfinity Invitational

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending the Gfinity Invitational event held at EGX 2016. I talked with Chris “chrisJ” De Jong of Mousesports after their grand final against Team EnVyUs. Here’s what he had to say:

Impressive Performance

Q: You’ve had an amazing performance over the last couple of days. Do you think oskar coming in has helped you play more loosely?

A: Well obviously, I play a different role with oskar on the team now. It took me some time to be comfortable with the rifle, but I feel I’m getting better with it now.

Aiming for the Top

Q: Do you think Mousesports can be in the top-five in three to four months time?

A: For sure. With oskar, we are showing improvement. In a few months, you’re going to see us close to the top.

Coach Change

Q: What caused the removal of your coach kassad?

A: We felt like he didn’t click well with some players. Oskar convinced us to try with lmbt, who’s coaching us now. It’s going to take some time, but I think this move is going to pay off.

Adapting to New Role

Q: Do you see your future as a rifle player or do you want to go back to AWP?

A: I like to play with both the AWP and rifle. I do what’s best for the team and if they need me more as a rifler, I’ll keep doing that.

I’d like to thank chrisJ for speaking with us and the Gfinity staff for putting on an awesome event. Stay tuned to GAMURS for more interviews and the best esports news and opinions.
