Autimatic Becomes Part of Cloud9

Autimatic Traded from Team SoloMid to Cloud9

Timothy “Autimatic” Ta has been traded from Team SoloMid to Cloud9 to replace Alec “Slemmy” White.

Autimatic has played with Kory “Semphis” Frieson and coach Soham “valens” Choudhury for almost a year and a half. They have been teammates on Nihilum, compLexity, and most recently TSM. This move has been heavily rumored in the past few weeks. Autimatic was also rumored to be trying out for Cloud9 in January, but that spot went to Jake “Stewie2k” Yip, who is a close friend of Autimatic.

TSM currently doesn’t have a replacement for Autimatic, but Justin “Just9n” Ortiz will be used as a temporary stand-in.

What is surprising is the announcement that Slemmy will not stay on as the coach for Cloud9. Slemmy was previously the in-game leader for Without a Roof, now known as Team Kailber, before taking up the same role with Cloud9. Despite his struggles in fragging, Slemmy was often praised as a capable tactician. His choice to not coach might be related to Valve’s new stance on coaching, which was announced earlier today.

It hasn’t been specified who will take over in-game responsibilities for Cloud9 or who will replace their former coach Andrew “Irukandji” Timmerman, who reportedly left the team to pursue a career in dentistry.
