Anders and Semmler, the CS:GO casting duo takes a break

Counter-Strike’s Iconic Duo Takes a Break

Two of Counter-Strike’s most well-known casters, Anders Blume and Auguste “Semmler” Massonnat, are taking a professional break from working together. Semmler revealed in a YouTube podcast with theScore that he is exploring other options, while Anders will continue casting live events with Jason “Moses” O’Toole. This comes after speculation that the duo would go their separate ways, following Semmler’s mention of a difficult relationship in an interview with Unikrn.

Semmler Misses DreamHack Masters Malmö

Recently, Semmler was unable to attend DreamHack Masters Malmö. In his absence, Moses stepped in to cast alongside Anders. Instead of being at the event in person, Semmler casted games with analyst Duncan “Thorin” Shields and former Fnatic coach Viktor “Vuggo” Jendeby on the video platform Znipe.

“We’re trying out different things,” Semmler stated on the podcast. “Anders will be casting with Moses and I will be freelancing. So to any tournament organizers listening to this: I’m available. There has been a divide.”

If the partnership between Anders and Semmler were to permanently end after almost four years, it would be a major surprise for the Counter-Strike community. They have become the most recognizable voices in CS:GO matches and frag movies.
