AcillioN to join Heroic, replacing RUBINO

Norwegian CS:GO veteran RUBINO leaves Heroic roster

Heroic, the professional esports team, has announced that Norwegian Counter-Strike: Global Offensive veteran, Ruben “RUBINO” Villarroel, will no longer be competing for them. Asger “AcillioN” Larsen will replace him, who had previously acted as a stand-in for the team. RUBINO spent about five months on the roster, but struggled to achieve significant results.

Heroic has gone through multiple roster changes this year, with RUBINO being the latest. Earlier in 2018, Jakob “JUGi” Hansen and Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer departed from the team to join OpTic Gaming on April 24.

In a press release, Kasper Hvit, the director of sports at Heroic’s parent company RFRSH Entertainment, stated that they are constantly analyzing and working on improving the players’ and team’s performance in the game and outside. He believes that AcillioN’s skills and mentality will contribute to the team’s development and performance.

RUBINO joined Heroic on Feb. 7, but had to take two separate breaks due to health-related issues. Following his second break on June 25, AcillioN began regularly competing for the team as a stand-in.

It is important to note that RUBINO’s removal from the roster means he cannot join a team participating in the upcoming FaceIt London Major, as he has already competed in the closed qualifier for the European Minor qualifier. He will have to wait until after the Valve Major’s conclusion on Sept. 23 to compete for a top team.

The new Heroic roster’s debut match is set to take place on July 12 at DreamHack Valencia.
