A Guide to Watching CS:GO StarSeries Season 5

The Next Big Esports Event: StarSeries Season Five

The upcoming international event in the world of Counter-Strike is StarSeries Season Five. Formerly known as StarLadder i-League, this event will feature a $300,000 prize pool. From May 28 to June 3, 16 teams will battle it out on the CS:GO servers in Kiev, Ukraine, all vying for the title of another StarLadder-hosted event.

Competition Format

In the initial Swiss Format group stage, there will be five days of intense competition. This will be followed by a two-day, eight-team championship bracket. In the Swiss Format, teams will compete in a randomly seeded, lottery-style match setup until they have reached either three wins or three losses. The top eight teams will continue to the playoffs, while the bottom eight teams will be eliminated in the opening phase of the tournament. All matches at StarSeries follow the standard best-of-three map veto procedure.

Map Pool

The event will feature the usual seven maps currently in the Active Duty map pool: Cache, Dust II, Inferno, Mirage, Nuke, Overpass, and Train.
