2016 Global Championships

The World Championships 2016 for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

This year, the highly anticipated World Championships for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive will feature teams from six continents, with eight championship spots up for grabs. This thrilling event will boast an even bigger prize pool for the participating teams.

In the inaugural World Championships held last year in Belgrade, Serbia, 79 nations competed for the title. France emerged victorious as the best national team in the world for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, taking home an impressive $100,000 prize.

The qualifying process includes six regional qualifiers for Europe, North America, South America, Africa, Asia, and Oceania. Each region will select one team, except Europe which will have three teams. The teams will receive a total of $150,000, with $50,000 dedicated to accommodation and travel support for the eight teams that make it to the Global Final.

Every national team has a Team Captain who holds the responsibility of selecting the players for the team and determining their roles in each match. The Team Captain also owns the team’s spot in the tournament.

To apply for the role of Team Captain, visit twc.e-frag.net and submit your application for your region. If you believe you have what it takes to lead your country’s team to victory, you must demonstrate your skills and abilities to the TWC 2016 admins, who will carefully evaluate all candidates.

There is only one important eligibility requirement to keep in mind – no player or manager on the team roster can have a VAC ban. This rule applies to everyone without exception.

The Global Final will be held in Belgrade, Serbia, where the eight qualified national teams will compete for ultimate victory. Who do you think will emerge as the champion this year?
