Leak suggests potential return of Kar98k and SPAS-12 in MW3 and Warzone

Call of Duty veterans could see the return of two fan-favorite weapons in a future update for Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone, according to a recent data mine.

BobNetworkUK, a reliable Call of Duty leaker, revealed that the Kar98k sniper rifle and SPAS-12 shotgun have appeared in the game files of MW3. While this doesn’t guarantee their addition to the game, BobNetworkUK has a proven track record of accurate data mines. Since the upcoming season three of MW3 and Warzone already has all its planned weapons, these new additions would likely be pushed back to season four. Unfortunately, the current Battle Pass doesn’t have a set end date, so we can’t estimate when season four will begin.

The Kar98k has been a staple of the Call of Duty franchise since its introduction in CoD 2 back in 2005. However, it gained immense popularity in Warzone Pacific. With its ability to eliminate enemies in a single shot from any distance and its impressive mobility, it quickly became the top choice in its class. While the XRK Stalker is currently a popular sniper rifle due to its lightning-fast mobility, the community is excited for the potential of the MORS sniper rifle arriving in season three, believing it could rival its predecessor from Advanced Warfare. But if the Kar98k performs anywhere close to its original form, it is expected to dominate the Warzone meta once again.

On the other hand, the SPAS-12 shotgun is an iconic Call of Duty weapon that first appeared in the original Modern Warfare 2 in 2009. Known for its exceptional range and damage, the SPAS-12 has always been a favorite among players. Despite shotguns typically performing better in multiplayer than in Warzone, the SPAS-12 is anticipated to be viable in both game modes if it makes its return.
