JD Gaming Claims Victory in LPL Spring Split

JD Gaming secured a 2-0 win over OMG in the 2021 LPL Spring Split regular season, solidifying their position in second place with a 12-4 record. This victory also secures their spot in the Spring Split playoff quarterfinals.

Despite a shaky start to the season, JDG has emerged as a dominant force in the League of Legends competitive scene. With a six-series win streak and no losses since March 1, they have showcased their strength after the holiday break.

JDG’s Recipe for Success

JDG, the reigning LPL trophy holders from the 2020 Spring Split playoffs, have capitalized on early compositions and a proactive playstyle. They have transformed from potential underdogs to serious contenders among the league’s top teams.

Battle of Proactivity

Both JDG and OMG displayed early dominance and aggressive fights around neutral objectives. However, JDG consistently gained the upper hand in these situations.

OMG attempted to turn things around in the second game by executing an early invade into JDG’s jungle, but it backfired, resulting in first blood for JDG mid laner Yagao on Zoe.

JDG once again showcased their ability to convert gold leads into snowballing advantages. They roamed the map, executed successful ganks with the help of their jungler Kanavi, and pushed their advantage relentlessly.

Zoom’s selection of Nocturne in the top lane proved successful yet again, granting early kills and dominance in the Rift after reaching level six.

Kanavi exhibited his aggressive playstyle by invading the enemy jungle, securing all neutral objectives, and putting OMG jungler Aki behind.

Aki, the key player for OMG, was consistently shut down by Kanavi, hindering OMG’s chances of turning the tide. JDG emerged victorious in most teamfights and secured quick wins.

Although OMG is likely out of playoff contention, they still have one more series to play against TT before the end of the Spring Split.
