Aleksib leads NAVI to Victory at PGL Copenhagen
In a thrilling Counter-Strike Major, Aleksib led Natus Vincere (NAVI) to victory at PGL Copenhagen. This marked the organization’s second Major win.
NAVI Proves Doubters Wrong
Heading into the tournament, many CS:GO fans doubted NAVI’s in-game performance. However, the Finnish captain, Aleksib, silenced the critics and delivered an exceptional performance at the most important match of his career. NAVI emerged victorious by defeating FaZe Clan 2-1, with wins on Ancient and Inferno.
Ancient Battle
The match between NAVI and FaZe on Ancient was a back-and-forth affair. It could have gone either way, but NAVI gained the upper hand by pulling off clutch rounds, leading them to a 13-9 victory. The pendulum swung in FaZe’s favor on Mirage, with a dominant 13-2 performance, bringing the series to a tie at 1-1. However, NAVI turned the tables on Inferno, securing a reverse sweep and leaving FaZe with only three rounds in the final game.
Aleksib’s Second Major Final
This was Aleksib’s second opportunity to lift the Major trophy. He previously led ENCE to the final at IEM Katowice 2019, but fell short against Astralis. Now, with NAVI, he has finally achieved Major success.
Playoff Dominance by jL and b1t
NAVI showcased numerous standout performances throughout the PGL Copenhagen Major, but it was jL’s and b1t’s form in the playoffs that truly stood out. jL topped the scoreboard with an impressive 46-29 KD ratio, closely followed by b1t with a 51-34 KD ratio. NAVI’s sniper, w0nderful, also delivered exceptional performances.
FaZe’s Inferno Curse Continues
Unfortunately for FaZe, history repeated itself on Inferno. This was the first Major final since the ELEAGUE Boston CS:GO Major in 2018 to feature a full best-of-three series. Back then, FaZe blew a 15-11 lead against Cloud9 and lost on Inferno, resulting in another heartbreak for the organization.
