Caps sets new EU LCS Summer Split kill record in FNC victory against UOL

Fnatic Dominates Unicorns of Love in EU LCS, Caps Breaks Kill Record

Fnatic had a spectacular performance in the EU LCS today, as their star mid laner Rasmus “Caps” Winther broke the Summer Split record for the most kills in a game.

Caps chose to play Irelia, a champion that has lost some popularity in Patch 8.13. Despite the nerfs that affected her laning abilities, Caps showed no hesitation in picking her.

Fnatic started strong, with Caps securing a solo kill in the mid lane against UOL’s mid laner Fabian “Exileh” Schubert. This kill marked the beginning of a snowball effect, as Irelia gained momentum and took command of the game. Caps continued to dominate Exileh’s Zoe, earning the admiration of mid laners everywhere.

Although Fnatic’s side lanes didn’t perform exceptionally well, Caps’ lead was insurmountable. He single-handedly carried the team, surpassing even the damage dealt by Bwipo’s Gangplank.

With 15 kills, Caps shattered the previous split kill record set by Schalke 04’s Nukeduck, who had 12 kills while playing as Kai’Sa with the funneling strategy. Caps achieved his impressive record without relying on any specific strategy, although he did manage to kill Exileh four times during laning. Additionally, despite Irelia’s recent nerfs, Caps showcased her strength on the Rift, making a case for potential nerfs in the future.

Fnatic will seek revenge against the undefeated Misfits Gaming in their upcoming match, scheduled for 1pm CT. Meanwhile, the struggling Unicorns of Love will attempt to secure a victory against Schalke at 10am CT.
