Pokémon Series Features Nine Unexplored Type Combinations, Two of Which Could Revolutionize the Game

In the Pokémon world, there are 18 different types. This creates 153 possible two-type mixes a Pokémon can have. Not all mixes are in the game yet. In fact, nine combos have never been seen. Two of these unseen combos would be super tough in a battle.

A Pokémon fan recently made a big chart. It shows all the possible type mixes with examples. Fans quickly spotted the missing combos. They are:

– Normal/Steel
– Normal/Rock
– Normal/Bug
– Normal/Ice
– Poison/Ice
– Dragon/Bug
– Ghost/Rock
– Fairy/Fire
– Fairy/Ground

Among these, Fairy/Fire and Fairy/Ground stand out. They could change the game a lot.

Fairy Types Change the Game

Fairy types have been powerful since they appeared in Gen VI. They ruled in various Pokémon games. Think about Xerneas in Gen VI or Zacian in Gen VIII. Now, Flutter Mane leads in Gen IX. Combining Fairy with either Fire or Ground would make it even stronger.

Ground covers Fairy’s weaknesses well. Fairy types are weak to Poison and Steel. They also struggle against Fire types. A Ground type can hit all these for extra damage. So, a Fairy/Ground Pokémon would be a tough opponent.

Fire type is great for defense. It stands strong in battles, especially in Scarlet and Violet games. A Fairy/Fire Pokémon could defend well and hit Steel types hard with Fire moves.

Could They Be Coming?

These new Pokémon types may appear soon. Scarlet and Violet added seven new type combos. So, we might see some in Gen X or in the upcoming Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC. Fairy types are popular. It’s only a matter of time before we see the first Fairy/Ground and Fairy/Fire Pokémon.

Pokémon continues to surprise us. New types could make battles more exciting. Fans are eager to see these unseen combos in the future.
