Pokémon Go Users Express Disappointment with New Feature Amidst Zygarde Introduction and Rewards

Routes in Pokémon Go had a tough start. Fans shared their disappointment on social media during the Blaze New Trails event.

New Feature Launch

Niantic launched Routes on July 21. This feature lets players create and share itineraries to explore different spots. It’s easier in busy areas with many PokéStops or Gyms. Yet, it’s hard in quieter places.

Fan Complaints

Since the feature’s debut, players have struggled to find Routes near them. This issue stopped them from enjoying new content and rewards. These include bonus buddy candy and a higher chance to find Shiny Yungoo.

Niantic mentioned Route approvals take about a week. However, this timing means some Routes won’t be ready until after the Blaze New Trails event ends on July 24.

Only a few players can submit Routes. This rule means less chance for new Routes in less populated areas. Some players found the Route events unimpressive due to the lack of appealing rewards, despite the introduction of Zygarde as a new catch.

Feedback and Fixes

A player noted lackluster encounters along Routes, likening the feature to Daily Incense. Another player observed a 50% chance to encounter Zygarde on their first Route of the day but found no success in subsequent tries. Niantic is expected to improve this feature over time.

Game crashes while following Routes have also been reported. Niantic has released a fix to address these issues.

In conclusion, while Routes in Pokémon Go started on shaky ground, there’s potential for improvement. Niantic’s efforts to address feedback and technical problems show a commitment to enhancing player experience.
