Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Players Discover Hidden Terastallize Mechanic Months After Release

The Terastal phenomenon is the cool new battle feature in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Players are still figuring out how it works.

At the start, Nemona, one of your rivals, gives you a Tera Orb. It lets you Terastallize your Pokémon in Paldea. You can only Terastallize once until you visit a Pokémon Center. But, players found some exceptions.

A Reddit post on July 1 showed how Tera rules change in Area Zero. This place hides all the Paradox Pokémon.

You can still Terastallize once per fight in Area Zero. But, your Tera Orb reloads after you catch or beat a wild Pokémon there. So, you can use it in many battles without a Pokémon Center.

Area Zero is full of Tera Crystals and is the Terastal phenomenon’s birthplace.

Also, players noted you can charge your Tera Orb outside Area Zero by touching Tera Raid crystals around Paldea. The official Scarlet and Violet site mentions this, but many might have missed it since the tutorial didn’t cover it.

One player said you can Terastallize in all Elite Four fights. You can’t heal at the Pokémon Center between them. They think the Elite Four’s building has Tera Crystals. Another player said its closeness to Area Zero might help charge the Tera Orb.

Even after half a year, players keep finding new things about the Terastal phenomenon and Area Zero.

With the upcoming Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC, we’re set to discover more.
