Pokémon Go’s Dark Flames event is bringing the heat with two of the most thrilling types – Dark and Fire. Get ready to catch them from June 29 to July 2. This event introduces Turtonator and Mega Sableye in Mega Raids for the first time. Players will earn 25% more XP and get three extra Candies in raids. Also, watch out for Team Go Rocket Grunts. They’ll have Dark and Fire-type Pokémon more often.
During the Dark Flames event, you’ll have a Collection Challenge for both Dark and Fire-type Pokémon. But, you have to choose wisely. You can only pick one challenge based on your path in the Dark Flames Timed Research.
Once you complete the first page of the Dark Flames Timed Research, you must choose between Dark or Fire-type Pokémon. This choice will determine which Collection Challenge you can do. Don’t worry, Turtonator isn’t locked behind your choice.
The best way to complete these challenges is by using Incense between June 29 and July 2. It will attract more Pokémon of the type you chose. If you go for the Fire-type option, Litten will appear often. This helps you finish your challenge quickly.
Completing the Dark-type Challenge
To ace the Dark-type Pokémon Collection Challenge, you need to:
– Catch a Poochyena, Carvanha, Houndour, Stunky, and Litwick.
– Evolve a Poochyena into Mightyena.
– Evolve a Carvanha into Sharpedo.
– Evolve a Torracat into Incineroar.
As a reward, you’ll get 100 Houndoom Mega Energy and 5,000 XP.
Finishing the Fire-type Challenge
For the Fire-type Pokémon Collection Challenge, do this:
– Catch a Litten, Vulpix, Houndour, Numel, and Galarian Zigzagoon.
– Evolve a Vulpix into Ninetales.
– Evolve a Numel into Camerupt.
– Evolve a Torracat into Incineroar.
You’ll also get 100 Houndoom Mega Energy and 5,000 XP as a reward.
