Can Shellos and Gastrodon Appear as Shiny Variants in Pokémon Go?

Meet Shellos and Gastrodon: Pokémon’s Favorite Sea Slugs

Since their debut in Gen IV, Shellos and Gastrodon have captured hearts as the Pokémon world’s adorable sea slugs. They might move slow, but their Water/Ground type gives them a solid defense. They also have a lot of bulk, making them tough in battles.

Shellos and Gastrodon also have rare Shiny versions, which are just different in color. Until now, you couldn’t find these Shinies in Pokémon Go. But, Go Fest 2023 changes that. It brings Shiny Shellos and Gastrodon to the game.

Catching Shiny Shellos and Gastrodon

You can catch these Shinies at Go Fest 2023. You don’t need a ticket to find Shiny Shellos on August 26-27, during the last weekend of the event.

On August 26, look for the blue East Sea Shellos in Quartz Terrarium habitats. Find the pink West Sea Shellos in Aquamarine Shores habitats. These habitats change every hour, bringing different Shellos forms. On August 27, the habitats won’t change. This means you can find both Shellos types all day. Still, finding a Shiny will need some luck. This is a great chance to add one to your collection.

From Shiny Shellos to Shiny Gastrodon

If you catch a Shiny Shellos, you can evolve it into Shiny Gastrodon. You need 50 Shellos Candy for this. Since there are two Shellos forms, you might want to catch a Shiny of each. It’s not easy, but finding a Shiny sea slug is a rewarding task.

In summary, these beloved Pokémon now shine brighter in Pokémon Go. Go Fest 2023 is your chance to catch Shiny Shellos and Gastrodon. So, get ready to explore, catch, and evolve your very own Shiny sea slugs. It’s an event you won’t want to miss!
