How to Catch Stunfisk and Galarian Stunfisk in Pokémon Go

Stunfisk first appeared in Gen V, known for its slow but tough nature. This flounder-like Pokémon, which does not evolve, later got a regional form in Gen VIII. It changes from Ground/Electric to Ground/Steel in Galar. Both forms are now in Pokémon Go. Here’s how to catch them.

Finding Stunfisk and Galarian Stunfisk

The ways to meet both forms of Stunfisk differ. Sometimes, Pokémon Go events may feature one form but not the other.

You can find Stunfisk in the wild, during Raid Battles, from Eggs, and through specific research tasks at events. For instance, the Stunfisk Limited Research Day on April 23, 2023, offers a good chance to catch both forms. By spinning Photo Discs at PokéStops, you’ll get Limited Field Research tasks. Complete these tasks to meet Stunfisk. You can do this many times during the event.

Shiny Chances

This event is a great chance to catch regular and Galarian Stunfisk, and maybe even their Shiny versions. The event boosts Shiny odds for both forms. Plus, this is the first time Shiny Stunfisk appears in Pokémon Go. Try to complete as many tasks as you can for a better chance at shiny Stunfisk.

Keep Looking

Missed an event with Stunfisk? No worries. Keep an eye out for new events and research tasks. Like all Pokémon, Stunfisk will keep appearing, giving you more chances to catch it in the future.
