Pokémon Go Users Find Out Ho-Oh Captured in Raids Lack Sacred Fire Ability

Fans of Pokémon Go expected more but ended up let down. They flocked to a Reddit discussion to talk about how Ho-Oh showed up in recent raids.

This Pokémon got into the latest raid line-up, just after making a Shadow cameo in the Pokémon Go Tour: Johto event.

At the event, any Shadow Ho-Oh caught had the Sacred Fire move. Its raid version now doesn’t, leaving players upset.

“Why is it OK for Niantic not to give raid bosses their best moves?” a user asked. “And since when is an essential Community Day move seen as a ‘luxury’?”

Ho-Oh was never promised to have this strong, rare move. To get it, players usually need a special item, an Elite TM.

Sacred Fire is not always the best pick for Ho-Oh, but it shines in PvP battles. It’s a favorite in the Go Battle League.

Getting Sacred Fire means using an Elite TM, a rare find in Pokémon Go. They’re only available during certain events or in the Go Battle league.

Without it, players now have to spend this scarce item to power up Ho-Oh for PvP. Many suggest using it on other Pokémon instead.

Events often give Pokémon temporary, powerful moves.

But after the event, those moves vanish. Players then need TMs to recover them. Before, developers gave out these moves post-event, raising hopes for this time.
