Top Pokémon Choices to Overcome the Unrivaled Pikachu Tera Raid Event in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

The time has come to face the Unrivaled Pikachu in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s latest Tera Raids. This exciting event challenges you to team up and take down the strongest Pikachu in the Paldea region. Make sure your team includes both attackers and supporters for a shot at epic loot!

Unfortunately, some bugs and performance issues still haunt Tera Raids, awaiting a future fix. However, don’t let that deter you from joining this raid. Here’s what you need to know.

Winning Tactics for Unrivaled Pikachu

In most high-level Tera Raids, including the Unrivaled Pikachu, you’ll face a level 100 boss with extra boosts. To stand a chance, bring your level 100 Pokémon. Underleveled Pokémon will likely lead to early knockouts.

Pikachu will appear as a Water Tera Type in these raids. This detail allows you to focus on countering its Water and Electric moves. Overcome this challenge to catch your Surfing Pikachu.

Your main goal should be to counter Pikachu’s rain move and start reducing its huge shield. This Pikachu is a tank, holding a Light Ball that doubles its power.

Top Pikachu Counters

If you’re uncertain how to counter Unrivaled Pikachu or need some advice, here are the best options. Use them soon, as Pikachu is available until Feb. 27 only.

Gastrodon’s Role

Gastrodon, a great pick from past events, serves mainly as support this time. With Storm Drain, Gastrodon is immune to Water attacks and has no issues with Electric moves due to its Ground typing. Combine Helping Hand, Recover, Clear Smog, and other moves for a durable team member.

Clodsire’s Comeback

Clodsire, akin to Gastrodon, fits right in against Unrivaled Pikachu. Acid Spray debuffs Pikachu while Helping Hand, Recover, and Earth Power or Acid Sprays support your team. With Water Absorb, Clodsire shrugs off Water-type hits.

Appletun’s Strategy

For something new, try Appletun. It’s designed to stay in the fight, lower Pikachu’s Special Defense, and weaken its Water attacks. Use Sunny Day, Apple Acid, Recycle, and Solar Beam, watching out for Pikachu’s Play Rough.

Lurantis for Offense

Want to hit hard? Lurantis can handle it. Set up Sunny Day to reduce Pikachu’s effectiveness and fight back with Leaf Storm, using Synthesis and a flexible move to stay in battle. Don’t underestimate Lurantis’s toughness though.

Wo-Chien’s Unique Approach

Wo-Chien is a surprise pick, effectively countering everything Unrivaled Pikachu dislikes. It can lower stats, stop the rain, and hit hard. Be cautious of Play Rough, but Wo-Chien can take a few.

Arboliva’s Endurance

Arboliva is another fantastic Grass-type, unfazed by Pikachu’s attacks. Using a Big Root enhances its Giga Drain and Strength Sap healing, while Sunny Day and Grass Terrain create a solid setup.

Stay tuned for more Unrivaled Pikachu counters as the event progresses.
