Details of Gimmighoul Crossover Leak Early for Pokémon Go During Go Tour: Hoenn

Even though we haven’t heard it officially yet, we’re getting hints about a special event linking Pokémon Go with Scarlet and Violet. This event revolves around Gimmighoul, a Pokémon that caught everyone’s attention last November in Pokémon Go.

What’s This Crossover All About?

The Pokémon Company has already let us know that you can only find Gimmighoul’s Roaming Form in Pokémon Go. Its Chest Form, on the other hand, is exclusive to Scarlet and Violet.

Rumors about when this crossover will start began to swirl again in late January. Fans were especially excited about Pokémon Day, hoping to learn more. They guessed it would involve updating Pokémon HOME for the new Gen IX connectivity. Though we don’t have all the details, PokéMiners discovered some interesting info on how Gimmighoul will operate in Pokémon Go.

Gimmighoul in Pokémon Go

Data pulled during the Pokémon Go Tour: Hoenn suggests Gimmighoul will work similarly to Meltan. It brings a new way to connect using the Postcard feature, allowing players to send them to Scarlet and Violet.

Players can send one Postcard daily to Scarlet or Violet, which will give them an item like a Coin Bag or Sparkly Incense. Opening it will make Gimmighoul appear for a short time, giving players a chance to catch it. Check out these details from the files:

– Connecting Pokémon Go with Scarlet or Violet shares limited data with Nintendo.
– You can activate the Coin Bag daily by sending Postcards.
– Gimmighoul seeks to return to the treasure chest it once lived in.

What Happens When You Catch Gimmighoul?

Catching a Gimmighoul might drop several Gimmighoul Coins, much like in Scarlet and Violet. These coins are key to getting a Gholdengo. The game has already updated Mysterious Coins to Gimmighoul Coins.

We’re also expecting Golden PokéStops to remain. A new item called the Golden Lure might be introduced, letting you attract certain Pokémon for 30 minutes. This could also help you get more Gimmighoul Coins by spinning the Photo Disc.

Though none of this is confirmed by Niantic or The Pokémon Company yet, keep an eye out this Pokémon Day. We might hear something about Gimmighoul and Pokémon HOME then.
