DRX Announces Coaching Staff and Roster Changes for 2022 LCK Spring Split
DRX, a professional esports team in the League of Legends Champions Korea (LCK) league, has revealed its new coaching staff and roster for the upcoming 2022 LCK Spring Split. The team has made significant changes to its lineup in hopes of improving its performance in the upcoming season.
New Players and Coaches Join DRX
DRX has added three new players to its starting roster: Kim “Zeka” Geon-woo, Kim “Deft” Hyuk-kyu, and Cho “BeryL” Geon-hee. These players bring a wealth of experience and skill to the team. In addition, DRX has appointed Kim Jeong-soo, Lee “Mowgli” Jae-ha, and Sin “Shine” Dong-wook as part of the coaching staff for the 2022 season.
DRX’s Struggles in the 2021 Season
Despite a strong performance in the Spring Split of the 2021 season, where they popularized the Udyr Chemtank meta, DRX finished the Summer Split at the bottom of the LCK standings with a 2-16 record. The team is determined to bounce back and regain its position as a top contender in the league.
Deft’s Return to DRX
Deft, a highly skilled player, is returning to DRX after previously playing for the team under the Kingzone DragonX name in 2018. During his time with the team, Deft contributed to their appearance in the LCK Finals and a quarterfinals finish at Worlds. After a mixed season with Hanwha Life, Deft is rejoining DRX with a refreshed roster.
BeryL, a former World Champion, will be joining Deft in the bottom lane. After DAMWON Kia’s loss in the 2021 World Finals, BeryL decided to explore other opportunities. This will be his third team since he began his professional career in 2017.
Furthermore, Zeka will be returning to the LCK after a two-year stint in the LPL. Previously playing for Vici Gaming and BiliBili Gaming, Zeka will now have the opportunity to start on an LCK team for the first time after being part of KT Rolser’s Academy roster.
With these changes, DRX aims to make a strong comeback in the 2022 season and prove themselves as top contenders in the LCK league.
