New Dota 2 Heroes Added to Auto Chess Test Servers
Drodo Studios is expanding its roster of Dota 2 heroes in the Auto Chess test servers. The latest additions are Zeus and Mars, as revealed by the developer on Twitter.
Mars: A New Warrior in the God Race
Mars is a one gold cost warrior class piece belonging to the new God race. This race has a unique buff that applies to all allies if there are no other racial synergies present in the lineup. Currently, having one God in play can halve the cooldown on skills at a one gold cost. If there are two Gods on the board, the buff is reduced further, giving all friendly units a skill cooldown time that is just 25 percent of its original.
Mars – The Tank
Mars is a tank who excels at physical damage resistance. His ability, Bulwark, allows him to block a percentage of damage when attacked from the front or side. Mars also possesses Shield Bash, which deals damage to units in front of him every 10 seconds. Although his mana cost is zero, he currently has no damage output.
Zeus: A Mighty Mage
Zeus is a member of the God race, but he is being introduced as a mage. Unlike Mars, Zeus is a five gold hero designed for late-game. His Thunder ability strikes every enemy on the board with lightning bolts, dealing a fixed amount of magic damage based on their current health. There is a 50 percent chance to hit each piece, and at tier three, Zeus can deal up to 35 percent damage to the opposing courier.
The addition of Gods to Auto Chess could potentially shift the focus of early game strategies. Players may prioritize working with a God in their lineup rather than seeking early synergies.
The test servers are also making changes to the buffs of Assasin, Beast, and Naga. Full details of these changes can be found on Reddit. With Drodo’s track record of production, players in the normal servers can expect these new heroes and adjustments to be added soon.
