More information revealed about the updates for Rammus, Malzahar, and Heimerdinger

Changes to Heimerdinger and Rammus will be coming soon, according to a recent dev post on the official League forums. However, fans of Malzahar may have to wait a bit longer for his updates. Riot’s core gameplay lead designer, Andrei “Meddler” van Roon, stated that the updates for Rammus and Heimerdinger should be ready in Patch 7.10.

Riot is looking to implement the changes for Malzahar in Patch 7.11, but it might take some additional time to finalize. The focus of the update will mainly be on Malzahar’s ultimate ability. The change will split the damage of his ultimate between himself and the area under his target, allowing for better counterplay when facing multiple enemies.

Currently, Malzahar’s main strategy in teamfights is to catch out an enemy ADC or damage dealer, and then use his ultimate to stun them, providing an opportunity for his team to engage. However, this also leaves Malzahar vulnerable to retaliation. With the proposed change, Malzahar will pose a threat to the entire enemy team instead of just a single target, making him a more effective champion.
