League of Legends players urge Riot Games to introduce a new feature to enhance the emote system

League of Legends Players Demand Better Emote Functionality

Since its launch over a decade ago, League of Legends has undergone numerous changes, including the introduction of emotes.

Emotes in League of Legends are not only a fun way to express your style and flair, but they can also be used strategically in the game. In fact, professional player Aki from OMG used emotes to clear out vision and make decisions during gameplay in the LPL.

However, with a total of 290 available emotes to choose from, it has become increasingly difficult for players to find a specific emote. As one Reddit user pointed out, there is no search bar and the filter options are limited, making the emote selection process frustrating and time-consuming. Players have called on Riot to address this issue.

Currently, players must either scroll through their acquired emote list or use the limited filter options to find a specific emote, which is far from user-friendly. This task becomes even more challenging for long-time players or those who are unfamiliar with emote names.

Many players have suggested that Riot add a search bar to the emotes page, allowing for easier navigation and quicker selection. Additionally, players have proposed the implementation of tags, allowing them to categorize their favorite emotes based on characters or themes.

Other suggestions include dedicated emote pages, where players can find all their bee emotes or emotes specific to a champion, as well as the addition of emote sound previews.

Unfortunately, it appears that emote functionality improvements, along with other features, have been placed on the back burner in Riot’s League development pipeline. It remains uncertain if or when these much-needed changes will be implemented.

Nevertheless, better emote functionality would undoubtedly enhance our League of Legends experience.
