Mobile version of Auto Chess removes Dota 2 elements and introduces competitive league

Drodo Studio, the creator of the popular Dota 2 mod Auto Chess, has announced that it will be launching a mobile version of the game. With over 6 million players on PC, the mobile release aims to reach an even wider audience.

Unlike the PC version, the mobile version of Auto Chess will have completely original assets and will not be associated with Dota 2. Drodo Studio has partnered with Chinese developer Dragonest, known for publishing the rhythm game Cytus in 2012. Players can reserve a spot for the mobile version on both iOS and Android by creating an account through Dragonest.

Although the game will no longer include Dota 2 elements, players will still have the option to link their game to their Steam account, allowing them to earn rewards such as in-game currency. Additionally, a competitive scene for the mobile version has already been established by ImbaTV, with a prize pool of $1.5 million up for grabs.

As more players pre-register for the game on Dragonest’s launch page, the goals for the game’s release continue to increase. It is unclear how this development will impact the relationship between Drodo Studio and Valve, but it is expected that Valve will provide additional support to the studio.
