CS:GO squad parts ways with Team YP following disappointing Major performance

YouPorn Esports Team YP Splits with Counter-Strike Squad

The esports division of YouPorn, known as Team YP, has announced its departure from its Counter-Strike team after MLG Columbus.

The split was revealed by Vladislav “arch” Svistov on Twitter, who stated that the differences in future plans between the players and management led to the decision.

According to arch’s statement to HTLV.org, “Our line-up was created three months ago, and we do not want our growth to stop. Our goal was to reach the Major, but we could not play with our full line-up, so we failed to qualify.”

The team, mostly composed of Russian players with one Ukrainian, was set to participate in the offline qualifiers for MLG Columbus in late February. However, visa issues forced the team to play with replacements.

Despite having experienced players like arch and Vadim “DavCost” Vasilyev, Team YP finished last in their group and failed to qualify.

Now, the team will stick together with fifth member Anton “kibaken” Kolesnikov and play under their original name of Phenomenon until they find a new organization to represent.

Team YP entered the esports scene in 2014 by sponsoring the Spanish Dota team Pay2win. Last year, they expanded into CS:GO with the acquisition of Phenomenon.

The organization also recently parted ways with Smash Bros. Melee player Jason “Bizzarro Flame” Yoon, who retired from esports to focus on his career as an attorney.

Team YP still has a CS:GO division consisting of a female team that was signed around the same time as Phenomenon.
