Shock GODSENT Replaces Alternate in ELEAGUE Qualifiers

Alternate aTTaX Upsets GODSENT to Claim Final Spot in ELEAGUE

German team Alternate aTTaX shocked fans by knocking out heavy favorites GODSENT in the ELEAGUE season two qualifiers. They secured their spot in the league with a 2-1 victory, winning on Dust II and Cache. However, their journey began with the elimination of Flipsid3 Tactics in the first round.

GODSENT, who recently added three players from the renowned Fnatic lineup, have been struggling since the Swedish shuffle. Despite high expectations, they have failed to qualify for major tournaments like ELEAGUE, ESL One New York, and the ESL Pro League. Additionally, they were eliminated during the group stage of StarLadder. This disappointment is particularly bitter for the new GODSENT players who reached the finals last season as part of Fnatic.

Flipsid3 Tactics, the only returning team from season one, was unable to progress beyond the first match in the qualifiers. Meanwhile, Team Dignitas and Gambit Gaming faced off in the final round, with Gambit failing to secure a spot in season two.

In addition to Dignitas and Alternate, ECS champions G2 Esports and FaZe Clan also secured spots in the second season.

The North American qualifiers kick off this weekend, with 11 teams from season one and five open qualifiers competing for just four spots. Notable teams fighting for their place in the league include Team Liquid, Counter Logic Gaming, SK Gaming, Luminosity Gaming, Team SoloMid, and Optic Gaming.
