ELEAGUE Season 2 Group Stage Draw Revealed
The highly anticipated second season of Turner’s ELEAGUE is about to kick off, and it looks like reigning champions Virtus Pro will face tough competition in their quest to defend their title.
In Group B, Virtus Pro will go up against DreamHack Bucharest winners Ninjas in Pyjamas and the formidable French team G2 Esports. The North American underdogs, Echo Fox, complete the group. The four teams will battle it out in Atlanta on Nov 4 and 5.
Group A: Mousesports, Cloud9, FaZe Clan, and Immortals
The group stage begins on Oct. 21 with Group A, which features no outsiders or heavy favorites. Mousesports, Cloud9, FaZe Clan, and Immortals will clash to earn a spot in the next stage. Although Mousesports had a successful run last season, they have been struggling since their former head coach, Aleksandar “Kassad” Trifunović, left the team.
Group C: Na’Vi, Astralis, SK Gaming, and Alternate Attax
Get ready for Nov. 11 as Group C brings together the titans. Na’Vi, Astralis, SK Gaming, and surprise qualifiers, Alternate Attax, will battle it out in a group that guarantees the elimination of one of the favorites. Na’Vi hopes to improve their performance and adapt to new signing Oleksandr “S1mple” Kostylev, while SK Gaming is back at full strength with the return of Fernando “Fer” Alvarenga from injury.
Group D: Fnatic, EnvyUs, OpTic, and Team Dignitas
The final group features former heavy favorites Fnatic and EnvyUs, but their dominance remains uncertain. OpTic and Team Dignitas pose a serious threat and proved themselves in recent competitions. Team Dignitas reached the semifinals of DreamHack Bucharest just last weekend.
