Exciting Start as Flying Penguins Shine in StarLadder Minor Day One

Flying Penguins Takes the Lead in Group A at StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor

Group A of the StarLadder ImbaTV Dota 2 Minor is off to a thrilling start, with Flying Penguins emerging as the top team after the first day of competition. Led by Jacky “EternaLEnVy” Mao, the new Flying Penguins stack displayed impressive teamwork and skill, defeating Royal Never Give Up 2-1 in their opening match.

On the other side of the bracket, Old But Gold achieved a major upset by defeating OG in a three-game series. Despite facing travel issues leading up to the event, OBG managed to put those distractions aside and deliver a stunning performance. This loss puts OG under immense pressure in the following days, especially after their impressive third-place finish at ESL One Katowice 2019.

Flying Penguins and Old But Gold then faced off in the winner’s match, battling it out for a spot in the playoffs. In another intense three-game series, Flying Penguins emerged victorious, with EternalEnVy’s dominant performance on Spectre being a key factor. With this win, Flying Penguins secured their spot in the next round and now await the results of the upcoming matches.

Old But Gold now finds themselves in the decider match, where they will face either OG or Royal for the final Group A playoff spot. The outcome of this match will determine whether OBG can keep their tournament hopes alive in the Minor.

Flying Penguins showcased strong performances from their entire roster, proving themselves against tough competition. However, their real test may come in the playoffs if they face a team like Gambit Esports.

The matches in the Minor will continue with Group B starting their matches on March 8 at 4am CT.
