Starix leaves Na`Vi after coaching for two years

Natus Vincere Announces Change in Leadership

After a period of poor performance, Natus Vincere has made the decision to change its leadership.

Sergey “starix” Ischuk, who has had a seven-year career as both player and coach with Natus Vincere, is stepping down as coach.

Following discussions with the team and organization, the former coach, Sergey “starix” Ischuk, made the decision to step down as coach. Andrey “Andi” Prokhorov, the team’s analyst, will now take over as coach of the Na`Vi CS:GO team. The team has struggled to achieve significant results since their victory at ESL One New York on October 2.

Starix joined Na`Vi in 2010 and became part of the organization’s legendary Counter-Strike 1.6 lineup. The team went on to win all major events of 2010 and set a new record for most prize money won in a single year.

In a post on social media site VK (translated by HLTV), starix explained that his departure was due to the team’s lack of recent progress. Despite this, starix remains committed to the esports industry and is open to coaching a new roster or even resuming his playing career.

Starix last played as a coach at the DreamHack Masters Malmö group stage in April 2016, filling in for Na`Vi’s star AWPer Ladislav “GuardiaN” Kovács.

Natus Vincere replaced in-game leader Danylo “Zeus” Teslenko with Ukrainian superstar Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev on August 4th of last year. However, apart from winning ESL One New York and finishing in the top four at EPICENTER, the team has struggled to make a mark.
