Fortnite’s Playability on Soulja Boy’s Console Questioned by Epic Games

Soulja Boy’s Knock-Off Consoles Face Controversy

Soulja Boy, famously known for his 2007 hit song “Crank That (Soulja Boy),” has once again made headlines. This time, it’s not for his music, but for his questionable video game consoles.

The Chicago entrepreneur recently faced criticism for his attempt to create his own esports organization. He released a set of consoles, similar to popular gaming devices, only to have them removed from his website due to a lawsuit filed by Nintendo. Despite this setback, Soulja Boy launched another handheld console resembling the PS Vita on Jan. 13.

Soulja Boy Claims Fortnite on His Next Console

In a recent interview with Complex, Soulja Boy announced that the popular battle royale game, Fortnite, will be available on his next console. He stated, “Yes, we’re working on it. Not this one, on the next one you can play Fortnite.”

However, Epic Games, the publisher of Fortnite, quickly responded to this claim. According to Nick Chester, a spokesperson for the company, playing Fortnite on a rooted or jailbroken device is not possible due to anti-cheat measures.

Epic Games Reacts to Soulja Boy’s Announcement

Nick Chester expressed surprise over Soulja Boy’s statement, stating on Twitter, “We don’t know anything about the device.” This suggests that Soulja Boy did not consult with Epic Games before making the announcement.

For now, it remains uncertain when Soulja Boy’s next console will be released and whether or not it will actually support Fortnite. In the meantime, you can purchase other products from his website, such as the SouljaPad tablet, SouljaPod earphones, SouljaWatch, and SouljaPhone HT70.
