Thorin’s CS:GO World Rankings as of June 27, 2016

CS:GO World Rankings: June 2016

The world of CS:GO has always struggled with consistent and up-to-date World Rankings. With so many teams participating in various events, it becomes difficult to judge the context and importance of each event. Instead of constructing a complex point system, I have analyzed the recent performance of each team and used my own expertise to determine the global top 10 rankings.

Only offline results are taken into consideration, and I focus on a team’s performance over a three-month period. Results from the beginning of this period are slightly less weighted compared to more recent tournament results. Factors such as finishes, consistency, current form, and opponents faced are all considered when determining the rankings.

Recent Events

I have considered the following recent events in creating the CS:GO World Rankings for June 2016: ESL One Cologne Qualifier, the first five ELEAGUE groups, Dreamhack Summer, and ECS S1 Finals.

1. Luminosity (coldzera, FalleN, fer, fnx and TACO)

Luminosity remains at the top of the rankings due to their consistently impressive performance. They have won three of their last five events, including two significant international tournaments. Although they did not win the ECS S1 tournament, their strong performance in the final solidified their position at the top of the rankings. They have consistently defeated other top-ranked teams, making them the favorites for the upcoming major.

2. Na`Vi (GuardiaN, Edward, Seized, flamie and Zeus)

Na`Vi’s consistent performance, consistently reaching the final of tournaments, keeps them in the second spot. However, their lack of tournament victories is a cause for concern. They have won notable Bo3 series against top-ranked teams, which keeps them in a strong position in the rankings.

3. Ninjas in Pyjamas (GeT_RiGhT, f0rest, friberg, Xizt and pyth)

NiP’s recent performance has been solid, solidifying their position in the top three. Although they lost in the Dreamhack Summer final and had a disastrous performance in ECS, they have won important Bo3 series against top-ranked opponents like Astralis and GODSENT.

4. G2 (shox, SmithZz, bodyy, ScreaM and RpK)

G2’s recent form at ESL looked promising, but they faced some hurdles in the ELEAGUE group stage and struggled to qualify for the major. However, their victory over Luminosity at the ESL ProLeague showcased their potential. They have also won significant Bo3 series against NiP and Fnatic, making them a rising team in the rankings.

5. FNATIC (KRiMZ, JW, olofm, Flusha and dennis)

FNATIC’s recent performance has been less than stellar since olof rejoined the team. Although they performed well in ELEAGUE, they suffered a surprising loss in the ECS semi-final. They have won only three Bo3 series against top-ranked teams in the last three months, putting their ranking in jeopardy. However, they have the potential to bounce back and regain their former glory.

6. Immortals (HEN1, boltz, lucas1, felps and SHOOWTIME)

Despite recent failures in important tournaments, Immortals’ victories at Dreamhack Summer and significant Bo3 wins against top-ranked teams like NiP and GODSENT have solidified their position in the top 10. Their upward trajectory showcases their growing potential, and it’s possible that two Brazilian teams could be in the top five if FNATIC continues to struggle.

7. Astralis (device, dupreeh, Kjaerbye, Xyp9x and karrigan)

Astralis’ recent performance has been underwhelming, with a lack of significant victories in recent tournaments. They had a decent top-four finish at Dreamhack Summer but disappointed with a last-place finish in ECS. They need to step up their game and secure quality performances to regain a higher ranking.

8. Virtus.pro (Snax, byali, pasha, NEO and TaZ)

Virtus.pro’s victory at Starladder has bumped them up in the rankings. Although they still have work to do to solidify their elite status, their recent performance against Na`Vi in a Bo3 series shows their potential. They need to continue their positive trajectory to improve their ranking.

9. EnVyUs (kennyS, Happy, apEX, NBK and Devil)

EnVyUs has shown potential with their recent qualification for the major and their experimentation with Devil as the in-game leader. However, their lack of notable results in the past few months prevents them from climbing higher in the rankings.

10. GODSENT (twist, znajder, Lekr0, pronax and pauf)

GODSENT retains their spot in the top 10 with a top-four finish at Dreamhack Summer and a Bo1 victory against NiP. However, their failure to qualify for the major puts them at a disadvantage in terms of potential ranking points. They need to strive for stronger performances to improve their position.
