Improving Team Dynamics: Enhancing Your Role as a Teammate

Tips for Being a Better Team Player

Don’t dismiss this title too quickly, even if you know what to do when playing on a team. I’ve had some “toxic” experiences in CS:GO and real life, so here are a few helpful tips.

Understanding the Challenges

Not everyone has an awesome gaming computer like you, so try to understand where they are coming from. Some people can’t afford a better computer or have limited access to high-speed internet. Yelling at them won’t make things better. If you’re able, consider helping them or focus on being a good player despite the lag.

Embracing Different Skill Levels

Not everyone plays like a pro, and that’s okay. Every player has something to offer, whether it’s their tactics, counsel, or other skills. Remember that people are people, and they each bring value to the team.

Dealing with Toxic Players

Being a non-toxic, respectful player can minimize problems on a team, but it won’t solve everything. Toxic players are the toughest challenge. Try to be reasonable and kind, and find ways to deal with them without resorting to name-calling or shouting matches. Be willing to make compromises for the sake of the team.

Lastly, remember that not everyone is doing their best. Try to bring out the best in your teammates by offering tips, encouragement, and promoting better communication. Being a thoughtful player can greatly impact the outcome of a game.

Thanks for reading, and let’s strive to have more mindful players in matchmaking.
