A League of Upsets: OpTic Gaming Triumphs
OpTic Gaming, the underdogs from North America, have emerged as the champions of the ELEAGUE tournament filled with surprising results.
Astralis versus OpTic
Train
16-9; Astralis wins
OpTic made a mistake by choosing Train against Astralis, the team that ended SK’s 17-0 winning streak on this map. Nicolai “device” Reedtz and Andreas “Xyp9x” Højsleth led Astralis, with device getting 25 kills and Xyp9x contributing slightly fewer kills but maintaining a 100 ADR.
Cobblestone
16-6; OpTic wins
Astralis heavily relied on device. He often found himself in 1vX situations where he had little chance of success. On the rounds they did win, device played a crucial role. On the OpTic side, Will “RUSH” Wierzba and Tarik “tarik” Celik were the standout performers, both with over 100 ADR.
Overpass
16-11; OpTic wins
The match on Overpass was a rollercoaster. At different points, it seemed like one team was struggling, only to rally and win a few rounds. Looking back, the match demonstrated that both teams were evenly matched.
OpTic Gaming’s victory over Astralis makes them the champions of ELEAGUE Season 2.
