Virtus.pro: Consistently Lagging Behind

Virtus.Pro: Consistent but Disappointing in CS:GO

Virtus.Pro has had a solid year in CS:GO, participating in 16 different events and reaching the top four in all but three of them. However, their success rate in actually winning these events has been disappointing, with only three victories out of 16.

So why can’t Virtus.Pro perform as well as they did at the start of 2014? It’s not just one problem holding them back; there are multiple internal and external issues affecting their performance.

The Opposition

Virtus.Pro’s history can be divided into two eras: before and after EMS-one Katowice-ESL one cologne 2014. In the first era, their main rivals were Nip, the best team at the time. Virtus.Pro had success in the beginning, winning events like Katowice, but Nip eventually turned the tides and beat Virtus.Pro in several tournaments.

The second era, post-Cologne, saw the emergence of two superteams: Fnatic and LDLC (now Envyus). These teams had strengths that Virtus.Pro struggled to match, such as Fnatic’s strong CT sides and Envyus’ aggressive playstyle. These new teams pushed Virtus.Pro off the top two spots and made it difficult for them to win consistently.

Issues affecting Virtus.Pro

Virtus.Pro faces several issues that hinder their success. One issue is their inconsistent performance, with only a few players consistently performing at a high level. Another issue is their ever-changing leadership, which affects their decision-making in crucial moments. Their map pool is also a problem, as they struggle to find maps where they have an advantage against top teams like Fnatic and Envyus.

Overall, Virtus.Pro has had some success against teams other than Fnatic and Envyus, but they have yet to prove themselves as champions. It remains to be seen if they can regain their earlier form and become the best team in the world once again.
