Fortnite’s Loot Lake island undergoes another relocation

The Troublesome Island in Fortnite: Battle Royale Continues its Journey

The island that first appeared at Loot Lake is causing more trouble on the Fortnite: Battle Royale map.

After focusing on the seventh rune near Pleasant Park for a few days, the rune has sunk back into the ground and is now emitting a purple beam. At the same time, the floating island has started moving again, which could mean bad news for the sixth rune near Lazy Links.

When the island started moving last week, players were unsure of its destination. Similar to the cube in season five, the sudden movement surprised and confused fans. However, through a replay feature exploit, some Twitter users discovered that the island is set to visit each of the seven runes that were burned into the ground by the cube in season five. It will create volcanic pits at each location.

This theory has been proven true so far. The island stopped moving when it arrived at the corrupted area near Pleasant Park on Sunday. The landscape of the location changed, and volcanic pits were created, launching players into the air. The rune was also lifted from the ground and began to float.

For now, the island seems satisfied and has moved south of the rune location. According to the theory, the next stop would be south of Lazy Links, where the sixth rune is located. However, the island would need to make a sharp eastward turn to hit the sixth rune.

Some players have experienced a glitch in-game that causes the island to appear on their map near Salty Springs. Regardless of its actual location, the fate of that area will ultimately be determined by the Loot Lake island.
