Fortnite streamer Ninja sets new Twitch subscriber record exceeding 50,000 subscriptions

Ninja Breaks Subscriber Count Record on Twitch

Famous Fortnite streamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins announced on his stream that he has surpassed 50,000 subscribers on Twitch, setting a record for solo streamers.

Impressive Growth for Ninja

Ninja, a former professional Halo player who has been streaming since 2013, achieved this milestone in a short amount of time. Just a week before, on Feb. 16, he celebrated reaching 40,000 subscribers on Twitter.

Achieving New Heights

According to Ninja’s own count on-screen, his subscriber count continues to grow and currently stands at 50,265. If all of these subscribers are on the $5 subscription tier and he receives a 50 percent cut, Ninja is making at least $125,662 per month. Over the course of a year with a consistent subscriber count, he could earn more than $1.5 million.

Potential for Even Greater Earnings

However, it is likely that Ninja is earning even more money. Viewers can subscribe at higher tiers costing $10 and $25, which significantly boosts Ninja’s revenue. As a top streamer, it is probable that he has negotiated a better split, possibly around 70/30.

Ninja shifted to full-time streaming after a successful career in competitive Halo, representing esports teams like Team Liquid, Renegades, Cloud9, and Luminosity. His popularity soared when he started streaming PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds before transitioning to Fortnite.
