Guide: Obtaining Jetpacks in Fortnite: Battle Royale

Jetpacks Arrive in Fortnite: How to Use Them and Where to Find Them

The highly-anticipated jetpacks have finally made their debut in the world of Fortnite. This limited-time item is known as the new Backpack feature, taking up an inventory slot along with other weapons and items.

Fortnite’s jetpacks run on fuel, meaning that once you exhaust it, you won’t be able to use them. However, when you do have fuel, you can soar to new heights and completely change the dynamics of the game.

So, how can you get your hands on a jetpack in Fortnite? Well, it all comes down to luck.

Currently, the only way to find a jetpack is by pure chance – it has to drop from a loot chest. That’s right, they cannot be found as floor loot or anywhere else on the map. Your best bet is to loot chests and hope for the best.

The Close Encounters limited-time mode may introduce changes in the future, but for now, you’re dependent on chests. Fortunately, chests are plenty in Fortnite’s map, and although jetpacks are considered Legendary items, they have a decent drop rate.

Scour all your usual loot areas for chests and hope for luck. If all else fails, eliminate an opponent who already has a jetpack and take theirs, assuming they haven’t depleted the fuel.
