Fortnite’s newest update introduces a reduction in resources and explosive ammo strength

A Look at the Balance Changes in Fortnite Update 4.3

Fortnite’s latest update, version 4.3, brings a number of balance changes to the game, specifically targeting the late game in Battle Royale.

Epic Games announced the changes, stating that they aim to address concerns regarding the dominance of Rocket Launchers and Grenade Launchers, the effectiveness of Miniguns, and overall resource availability. They will be closely monitoring the impact of these changes and making adjustments as needed.

Enhancing the Dismantling of Structures

In order to make it easier to take down structures, damage fall-off against structures has been removed for rifles, SMGs, pistols, and LMGs. This change should speed up the process of destroying bases with ammunition.

Nerfs to Supply Llamas and Resource Availability

Supply Llamas will now provide reduced amounts of materials, with material stacks being reduced from 500 to 200. Additionally, explosive ammo has been completely removed from Llamas. Overall resource availability has also been reduced, with material drop chances in floor loot and material stack sizes in floor loot both being reduced by 33 percent. However, there is a slight increase in light ammo availability, as stack sizes have been increased from 12 to 18. On the other hand, explosive ammo availability has been decreased by 50 percent.

Buff to the Minigun and C4 Remote Explosives

The Minigun has received significant buffs, including a 10 percent increase in accuracy, an increase in starting ammo from 60 to 100, and an increase in damage against structures from 25 to 30. C4 Remote Explosives have also been improved, with the explosion radius being increased from 400 to 600 to make them more effective against structures.

In summary, the focus of these balance changes is to make it more viable to dismantle structures without relying too heavily on explosives. These changes are now live in the game, so don’t forget to share your feedback with Epic Games.
