ESL Pro League Season 4 NA: Week 2 Power Rankings

Cloud9 Dominates Week 2 with Perfect Record

This week, Cloud9 continued their strong performance from the previous week, winning all their matches without dropping a map. While Timothy “autimatic” Ta stood out in the team’s debut matches last week, it was Jake “Stewie2k” Yip who shone this week. In their first map against compLexity, Stewie2k showcased an incredible performance with a statline of 33-8-17 and a monstrous 142.5 ADR. With such impressive performances from every player, Cloud9 is proving to be a top three team in the region.

Liquid Climbs the Ranks

Liquid had a successful week, securing a 2-0 victory against Winterfox. Stellar performances from jdm and EliGE led them to victory. EliGE especially stood out with a 30 bomb and a 128.9 ADR on Mirage. While their record may not be as impressive as Echo Fox’s, their talent level is higher and they have the potential to improve even further with the addition of LiquidPimpZ.

Echo Fox Takes a Break

Echo Fox had a week off, leaving them vulnerable to be overtaken by other teams. They will face tough challenges in week six against SK Gaming, Cloud9, and OpTic Gaming, which will determine their true standing in the league.

OpTic Gaming Shows Promise

OpTic Gaming had a strong showing this week, with wins against eUnited and a draw against RNG. The addition of tarik has brought some challenges in team synergy, but mixwell’s consistent performance has carried the team. OpTic Gaming will continue to improve as they work on integrating tarik into the roster.

Immortals Struggles Despite Highs

Immortals had a mixed week, with wins against Splyce and NRG, but a disappointing loss to eUnited. HEN1 had a particularly rough week with low kill counts in key matches. While Immortals has moments of brilliance, consistency is crucial in league play. Their upcoming matches against OpTic Gaming and SK Gaming will reveal their true potential.

compLexity Struggles in Week 2

compLexity had a challenging week, with a loss against Splyce and a defeat against Cloud9. witmer’s poor performance and Surreal’s occasional impact highlighted the team’s inconsistency. Though they have moments of brilliance, compLexity is not likely to make a significant impact this season.

Renegades Shines Without SPUNJ

Renegades, despite losing SPUNJ and gaining Ricky “Rickeh” Mulholland, surprised viewers with a strong performance against OpTic Gaming. Rickeh made an immediate impact, showcasing his skills with 28 kills in their close loss on Cache. Aaron “AZR” Ward also had an outstanding performance, leading the team to victory on Mirage. Renegades has the potential to compete against top teams and determine the playoff standings.

Winterfox Holds Their Own

Winterfox, with their new Australian lineup, put up a fight against Selfless and Liquid. Despite a 1-3 record, they showed promise by winning double-digit rounds in all four matches. The lack of an effective AWPer is a concern, but with time and adjustments, Winterfox can improve their performance.

Splyce Struggles Without Machinegun

Splyce, without their star player Machinegun due to visa issues, had a challenging week. Despite some bright moments from AcilioN and CRUC1AL, their unique roster composition with an ESEA Main player hindered their performance. With Machinegun’s return, Splyce has the potential to make an impact in the league.

CLG Falters After Roster Changes

CLG has had a difficult time after losing jdm and tarik. With new additions nahtE and Subroza, they faced a tough opponent in Cloud9 and struggled to make an impact. The decision to have reltuC as the main AWPer is questionable, and if koosta doesn’t step up, CLG’s place in the league will be in jeopardy.

NRG Esports Falls Short

NRG Esports, despite being considered one of the top lineups in NA CS, disappointed with a loss against Immortals. The team needs to perform up to their potential and make better use of their talent and experience. ptr’s strong AWP performance is a positive sign, but their start in the league is concerning.

Selfless Struggles Post-Roster Changes

Selfless, after losing Relyks, faced difficulties integrating their new lineup. Despite a solid performance against Winterfox, their overall performance in the first two weeks of the league indicates they may struggle to compete at the top level.

eUnited Shows Glimpses of Potential

eUnited secured their first map win against Immortals, showing potential for growth. While their overall record is disappointing, they can improve and have an impact on the playoffs.
