This is the largest Dota 2 tournament ever held in Australia, with a prize pool of $50,000 AUD ($36,000 USD). Teams from around the world, including world champions OG, will be competing. Kyle Holton, the Business Owner and General Manager for AGN Black, expressed excitement about the opportunity. He stated, “Convictus is the first major event that AGN will be attending as an esports organization. The fact that we’re competing alongside Natural 9 and international teams such as OG and Mineski is still a shock to us. To be able to attend such an event is quite a new and amazing experience for us, and we definitely couldn’t have done it without the guidance of the Australian gaming and esports community. Thank you all!”

This competition is a clear indication of the significance it holds for the Australian Dota 2 community.

Stellar Host Line-Up and On-Site Experiences

In addition to the teams, the event will feature a stellar cast of hosts, including Sir Action Slacks, Michelle Mannering, GoDz, R1sk, MLPDotA, and Basskip. AMD will also provide on-site experiences, such as cosplay competitions and stores to purchase jerseys of favorite teams. Attendees will also have the opportunity to test out AMD’s top products with friends.

The Dota 2 Pro Series 2018 main event will take place at The Plenary, Melbourne Convention Exhibition Centre on December 8 and 9. The venue has hosted various events, ranging from live sports to massive rock concerts, making it a noteworthy location even without the draw of Australia’s biggest Dota 2 event.
