Fortnite’s Newest Weapon Now Available in Battle Royale
The latest weapon in Fortnite, known as the Drum Gun, has been released as part of the v4.5 content update. This new weapon, often referred to as the Tommy Gun, is now available in Fortnite: Battle Royale. It uses medium ammo and has a 50-round clip, making it a high-capacity alternative to the game’s existing assault rifles.
Variants and Damage Rates
The Drum Gun can be found in uncommon and rare variants through regular loot spawns. The base damage rate for the weapon is 26 for uncommon and 27 for rare, which is equivalent to that of a common Burst Rifle.
Fire Rate and Magazine Size
While the Drum Gun may not have the highest damage per shot, its appeal lies in its increased fire rate compared to assault rifles and its larger magazine size when compared to SMGs. Given the popularity and power of SMGs in the current meta, it remains to be seen if the Drum Gun will have a significant impact.
New Additions and Playground LTM
The unveiling of the Drum Gun by dataminers @TwoEpicBuddies on Twitter coincided with the launch of the 4.5 content update. This marks the second new weapon to be added in as many weeks, following the inclusion of dual pistols in last week’s update. As for upcoming additions, there has been no indication of what to expect in the near future. However, players can test out the Drum Gun in the game’s Playground LTM, which recently went live after being temporarily taken offline due to server issues.
