What sets apart a Twitch Affiliate from a Twitch Partner?

Twitch Affiliate and Twitch Partner: What’s the Difference?

Twitch streamers can have two types of relationships with the platform in order to make money from their channel: Affiliate and Partner. Both statuses require meeting certain criteria, but becoming an Affiliate is easier and quicker than becoming a Partner.

Requirements for Twitch Affiliate

  • Stream for 500 minutes across seven different broadcasts
  • Average at least three concurrent viewers within 30 days
  • Have at least 50 followers

Your progress towards becoming an Affiliate can be tracked on your Creator Dashboard’s Achievements page under the “Insights” tab. Once you’ve reached Affiliate status, you can use the same page to track your progress towards becoming a Partner.

Requirements for Twitch Partner

  • Reach Affiliate status
  • Stream for 25 hours across 12 unique streams
  • Average 75 viewers

Meeting these guidelines will allow you to apply for the Partner Program, but it does not guarantee you will be granted Partner status.

Benefits for Twitch Affiliates

As an Affiliate, streamers can access subscriptions, ads, and Twitch Bits as monetization features. Affiliates also receive one to five sub emotes based on the number of subscribers they have. They get 14 days of VOD storage (more for Twitch Prime members) and can create polls and channel point incentives for viewers.

Benefits for Twitch Partners

Partners have similar benefits to Affiliates but also have full access to Transcode options, up to 60 days of VOD storage, up to 60 emotes, stream delay options, and squad streaming options. They can use a self-service emote tool, create stream teams, and have priority in customer service. Most importantly, Partner status comes with the verified channel badge.

Biggest Revenue Differences for Twitch Affiliates vs. Partners

  • Partners have access to higher revenue splits on subscriptions and ads compared to Affiliates.
  • Partners can access additional revenue streams like the Bounty Program.
