XQc Surprises with a Grand Netflix Debut – A Twist You Wouldn’t Predict

A Popular Streamer, xQc, Featured in Netflix Documentary About Johnny Depp-Amber Heard Case

Streamers are well-known for their constant online presence and large fan bases. So, it may come as a surprise that xQc, a prominent streamer, is only now making his debut in a feature film. However, don’t expect him to win any Oscars for his role.

On July 27, Netflix released a trailer for an upcoming documentary called “Depp v Heard.” The documentary explores the high-profile court case between film stars Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, which unfolded in 2022. The trailer showcases various content creators who have given their take on the case and its related topics.

xQc, one of the most recognizable creators, appears in the trailer less than a minute in, reacting to the trial’s many twists and turns. Upon seeing himself in the trailer during one of his recent streams, he exclaimed, “I made it!”

xQc, like many other streamers at the time, followed the trial closely, consuming both short and long-form content about the case and discussing it with his chat. He shared his reactions whenever new information emerged. Some of his most popular YouTube videos related to the case were edited versions of his streams, garnering over 700,000 views each.

In fact, xQc created his own YouTube playlist dedicated to the event, consisting of 23 videos of varying lengths. These videos are just a selection, as the editors condensed some of the streams. Being one of the biggest streamers on the platform, Netflix included xQc in the trailer for their documentary. Other Twitch streamers, such as Asmongold, who covered the event, may also appear in the full documentary.

The Importance of Media’s Reaction to the Johnny Depp-Amber Heard Case

The documentary aims to highlight not only the court case itself but also the media’s response to it. When the case was ongoing, it was a major talking point, particularly as details of abuse were revealed from both sides. Many streamers and casual viewers watched as the two celebrities battled in court, from the start until the verdict.

On August 16, fans will have the opportunity to relive that moment in time on Netflix and witness a popular streamer in his big screen debut, doing what he does best: providing reactions and entertainment.
