XQc’s Consistent Twitch Livestreams since Joining Kick: Meeting Viewer Expectations

Kick Signs xQc but Streaming Strategy Remains with Twitch

Kick has recently signed some of Twitch’s top talent, including xQc. However, xQc’s recent non-exclusive deal with Kick indicates that he will continue streaming on Twitch as well.

Since the news of xQc’s move to Kick was revealed on June 16, he has streamed on Twitch almost every day, with only one day off. He spends 2-4.5 hours on Twitch before moving to Kick, where he streams for varying lengths of time, from under two hours to over eight hours in a single broadcast.

For those unfamiliar with xQc’s new streaming strategy, it may seem strange. However, those familiar with the industry understand that xQc starts his streaming day on Twitch to maintain his established community on the platform.

After spending a couple of hours on Twitch, xQc informs his fans that he is heading to Kick, where he continues streaming for the rest of the day. Kick, being a newer platform with less traffic, benefits from xQc’s presence as he essentially advertises the platform while still streaming on Twitch. The goal is to gradually attract more viewers from xQc’s Twitch streams to Kick.

Although the strategy has not yet resulted in an equal number of viewers on both platforms, there is evidence that it is benefiting xQc’s Kick channel to some extent. Since signing his deal with Kick, xQc has streamed on the platform 11 times, averaging between 36,000-55,000 viewers according to Streams Charts. Meanwhile, his Twitch streams during the same period have averaged 53,000-78,000 viewers.

It’s important to note that xQc’s deal with Kick is non-exclusive. This is significant because streamers prioritize their community of viewers when making decisions, especially when considering a platform switch. If xQc had not been given the flexibility of a non-exclusive contract by Kick, he might not have agreed to leave Twitch, despite the enticing offer.

Overall, xQc’s streaming strategy benefits both Kick and Twitch. He can maintain his presence on Twitch while also promoting Kick to his viewers. Despite the non-exclusive deal, xQc’s partnership with Kick remains highly lucrative.
