Hostile Response to FaZe’s Statement on Rain and Grace Van Dien Conflict Escalation

FaZe Clan Controversy Erupts Over Rain and Grace Van Dien Conflict

FaZe Clan found itself in the midst of another controversy on June 1st as the organization made a statement about the recent conflict between Rain and Grace Van Dien. This statement was met with hostility on social media from both FaZe Clan members and fans.

In a Twitter post, FaZe Clan expressed support for Grace Van Dien, the newest talent signing who is also an actor on the popular show Stranger Things. This statement came after Rain, a creator for FaZe, shared a video of an argument between himself and Van Dien, which resulted in Van Dien leaving in tears.

The statement read, “The mistreatment of our newest member is in no way OK. Grace joined in hopes to bring her voice to FaZe, and we stand by her.”

Rain replied, “Ratio shut ur dumbass up Cbass.” This tweet received almost five times as many likes as FaZe’s statement and over three times as many retweets, indicating support for Rain. Another reply simply stated, “I speak for everyone when I say we do not care.”

The video that prompted the statement was shared on May 31st. In the video, Van Dien accused Rain of directing hate towards her, leading to death threats and harassment from FaZe fans who obtained her phone number after Rain spoke out against her signing.

The conflict between these two content creators escalated when Rain claimed that Van Dien was only signed because of her role in the Netflix series, which further fueled criticism against the organization’s recent leadership decisions. In the video, Rain stated, “You got caught up in a crossfire between me and FaZe.”

Their argument intensified, and Van Dien left the room in tears after expressing her belief that Rain is a terrible person. As she walked out, she addressed members of the production team and said, “Macho, tell Vera that I’m not doing this video, and if they release anything, then I’m leaving FaZe.”

FaZe’s tweet deemed Rain’s video as “mistreatment” of Van Dien and expressed support for the actress.

Rain has been vocal about his strong criticisms of FaZe’s direction for weeks. He initially voiced his concerns over the signing of streamer NICKMERCS after the organization laid off half of its staff and later leaked the abysmal income numbers of its esports teams.
