Rain alleges that FaZe signed NICKMERCS for ‘damage control’ and offered him the highest compensation among all members.

FaZe Clan Faces More Drama with Allegation from Owner Rain

FaZe Clan has once again found itself in the midst of controversy, with owner Nordan “Rain” Shat making allegations about certain decisions made by the organization.

Allegation Targets FaZe Clan’s Signing of NICKMERCS

Last month, FaZe Clan made headlines when it laid off nearly half of its staff. Now, Rain has turned his attention to the signing of streamer Nicholas “NICKMERCS” Kolcheff, who is also a co-owner of FaZe Clan.

Rain’s Claim of “Damage Control” Signing and High Salary

In an Instagram story, Rain claimed that FaZe recruited NICKMERCS in 2018 as a form of “damage control” in response to the Tfue situation. Rain also alleged that NICKMERCS has been receiving a salary of $1 million per year, which is significantly higher than other FaZe members.

Background: NICKMERCS and FaZe Clan

NICKMERCS has been signed to FaZe Clan since 2019 and has had an equity stake in the organization since 2021. Prior to joining FaZe Clan, NICKMERCS was a prominent member of Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag’s 100 Thieves organization.

FaZe Clan’s Troubled Past with Tfue

FaZe Clan’s relationship with former member Turner “Tfue” Tenney ended in a messy public breakup in 2019 and 2020, resulting in a lawsuit over contractual issues. Although Tfue and FaZe Clan reportedly settled their legal disputes in 2020, Rain claims that the organization signed NICKMERCS as a way to mitigate the fallout from the Tfue controversy.

Additional Allegation about CEO and Patchy Relationship

Rain also accused FaZe Clan’s CEO of misleading everyone about his salary. Furthermore, despite being one of FaZe Clan’s longest-serving members, Rain has had a strained relationship with the organization recently. He threatened to leave FaZe Clan in May unless the director of social media, Cbass, was removed, and in April, he criticized the organization’s management on Twitter.

The saga continues as Rain continues to share updates on his personal accounts.
