How to Obtain a Blank or Invisible Name in Among Us

The Rise of Among Us in the Gaming World

The popular party game, Among Us, has gained significant popularity among gamers and streamers. Despite being a four-year-old game, it has recently attracted a large number of active players due to its entertaining content and its ability to engage and persuade audiences.

Using Generic Names to Your Advantage

In Among Us, using environmental objects is crucial for maintaining your disguise and eliminating crewmates without being detected. However, even the best hiders can be exposed by their in-game names, leading to emergency meetings. To increase your effectiveness, consider using generic names or agree with your friends to use identical names for added chaos.

Going Nameless: Becoming an Impostor in Among Us

Inspired by Game of Thrones assassins, you can become a nameless impostor who leaves no trace behind. Just like the best assassins, having no name can give you a strategic advantage in Among Us.

How to Set a Blank Name in Among Us

Update: As of 2022, InnerSloth has patched out the ability to have blank names using the Hangul Filler Unicode in online games. However, you can still use a small quotation mark as a substitute for a blank name. Keep in mind that this alternative may not work in all game modes.

Playing as a Mobile or PC Player

If you’re playing on a mobile device, simply copy the Unicode “ㅤ” and paste it into the name field in Among Us. For PC players, the process is a bit more complex. Follow these steps:

  1. Exit Among Us if you’re currently in the game.
  2. Navigate to your appdata folder.
  3. Open the InnerSloth folder and locate the PlayerPerfs file.
  4. Right-click on the file and open it with Notepad.
  5. Copy the Hangul Filler Unicode “ㅤ” and paste it at the beginning of the text.
  6. Delete your existing name and save the file.
  7. When you log back into Among Us, your name should appear as blank.
  8. Note that having a blank name is only possible in certain game modes.
