Top Twitch Content for July 18 to 24: Exciting Releases Create Waves

Twitch’s Top 10 Most-Watched Categories in July

The summer season has seen a constant fluctuation of rankings for various esports titles on Twitch. While Just Chatting continues to dominate, other games have had their time to shine. This week, a couple of fresh titles made a notable impact in terms of viewership.

Stray and MultiVersus Make Their Mark

Although single-player and fighting games typically don’t generate high viewership, new releases often break that trend in their first week. This week, the launch of the cat-centric RPG Stray turned heads, with streamers attracting over eight million hours of watch time. Despite the game not being officially released until Tuesday, it still managed to secure a spot in the top 10 due to its impressive opening day numbers.

In addition, Warner’s fighting game MultiVersus, which entered early access on Tuesday, also garnered significant viewership with 6.89 million hours watched in just six days. The game’s numbers were on par with popular titles like Warzone and Teamfight Tactics, although it didn’t make it into the top 10 rankings.

GTA Takes Center Stage

GTAV role play stole the show on Twitch this week, with a 27 percent increase in viewership compared to the previous week. Notable content creators, such as xQc, contributed to the game’s popularity by streaming it for around nine hours with an average of over 70,000 viewers. The most-watched creator, Lou_Coringa, amassed over 2 million hours watched during 22.5 hours of gameplay.

Dota 2 Gets a Boost from Masters Tournament

While Dota 2 usually maintains a steady viewership on Twitch, it experiences a rise in popularity whenever a major tournament takes place. Last week’s Riyadh Masters provided viewers with top-tier Dota 2 esports action and featured a impressive $4 million prize pool. The English and Russian-language broadcasts of the tournament amassed over 4.1 million hours of watch time, making them some of the most-watched channels of the week.
